The GlenDronach Forgue, aged 10 years, is a Highland single malt that has been richly sherried, having matured in exquisite Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks.
This particular dram beautifully encapsulates the heritage and terroir of Forgue, presenting a delightful abundance of brambles, ripe barley, and resinous oak, culminating in a long, lingering finish.
APPEARANCE
It presents a burnished copper color with a deep harvest-gold hue.
NOSE
One can detect a harmonious blend of Seville blood orange and cherry, alongside harvest-ripe barley, roast chestnuts, and winter-spiced cocoa.
PALATE
The palate is greeted with sweet Valencia orange and Morello cherries, followed by flowing waves of ripe barley. As the flavor profile develops, one can appreciate dark currants, praline toffee, and earthy brambles. The experience concludes with a richly satisfying, lingering finish of orange-laced tobacco and ground nutmeg.
